As a start up freelancer, you may have to deal with some real challenges, that, at the beginning, may seem hard to cope with. One of them may be that your programming skills are not so great or that you do not know what a sales letter is, or, simply put, you do not have yet some strong skills to get into the competition for freelancing projects.

But all is not lost. I have two words for you: data entry. These are among the simplest projects and there are many to choose from. If you know how to use the computer than a data entry job will not be a hassle for you. It may require long hours and they can become quite boring in the long run, but they can assure you a nice pay in the end, while you learn something else or you work towards building up a reputation.

If you look from the right perspective, you will see how you can make the best of this situation. If you manage to win one or more projects based on data entry, you will be able to get some nice ratings and win some money in the process.

Data entry projects require time and dedication, but every project requires these two things from you. As long as you have a computer, an Internet connection and some hours to spare for the job, you can complete almost any data entry project. Whether you use them just to get through the door or to make a little extra cash (or more, if you have a lot of time to invest in these projects), data entry projects are a good option, so go ahead and use it.
