Freelance sites work in a reverse bidding order.
Basically, it is like eBay, but instead freelancers are bidding on projects (jobs).

The bid itself is the amount you will expect to be paid for the job.

In order to get yourself known on freelancing markets, what you need is a seller profile. It is best that your profile is as complete as possible, because it will act as a recommendation card for all the buyers that will show interest in you, from the moment you place a bid on one of their projects.

I will not talk here about all the aspects of a great profile - meaning a profile that can bring you good projects, and money, as a consequence. But I will focus on the unique aspect of your nickname. (more)

Freelancers like to have work to do, even if sometimes means long hours. So having many projects to choose from is considered by anybody working in this field a bless. But is it quite so?

When I started working as a freelancer, I used to read carefully every single project that I could bid on. But I also learnt that there may be shortcomings to this method of taking every project in particular and grill it thoroughly. I got tired after a few hours and quite disappointed that I did not manage to find the right project for me. Sometimes the payment was not so good, other times, the project details left me puzzled, so I thought that I needed some filtering options so I could get my hands on those jobs that were fit for me.

This was the main thing that I had in mind when I decided to introduce the Advanced search option into my site. When you have over 3000 projects to choose from, a little help will do you good. I collect these projects from GetAFreelancer and other job boards. (more)

Feedback of user TakeRealAny freelancer marketplace has a rating system for buyers and providers, as well. This is the most common and efficient way to tell who are you dealing with before you get in touch with them. GetAFreelancer has its own system of rating and reviewing and, in this post, I will explain you how it works.

Rating is important for buyers and service providers alike. But, when you are a service provider, your rating and the reviews you get will let everybody else know if you are a professional and what kind of work you excel in. What does this mean? Simple: more projects and more money for you, if your ratings are good. (more)
